

Penny Hukill Harrison, age 64 of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at NOVANT Rowan Regional Medical Center from complications of COVID Pneumonia. Born December 3, 1956 in Newport News, VA, Penny was the daughter of Wanda Burke Hukill and the late Rev. Ervin Hukill. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jack Mitchell. Penny was a lifetime member of the Assemblies of God.
After graduating from Richlands High School in Virginia, Penny went on to obtain her Human Services Degree from Old Dominion University. She spent her career as a case manager most recently with Cardinal Innovations where she absolutely loved her work. She was a volunteer and served on the Board of Directors of the Lift Disability Network, something she was most passionate about.
In her spare time, Penny loved to fish. She loved to grill and to bake and was known as the "dessert queen" and was well known for her excellent deviled eggs. Penny loved holiday traditions; the baking, playing games, decorating and all the things that make the holidays so special. She loved hard, was an extremely generous and selfless person who lived to help and assist others any way she could. But most of all, she was about family and loved them with all she had.
Those left to cherish her memory in addition to her mother, Wanda B. Scaggs (Jack); are her son, Bryant Harrison (Kelly) and daughters, Selina Kelly and Sharlina Mitchell (John). Also surviving are her brothers, Jim Hukill (Rhonette) and Woody Hukill (Cindy), along with her precious grandchildren, Hannah, Bekah, Sarah Grace and Julia Mitchell and Ty and Pyper Harrison and also nephew, Daniel Hukilll and niece, Sarah Carter (Sam). She also leaves behind her adored four-legged fur baby, Precious.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 7:00pm.
