Susan Strider Berquist

Born in Iredell County on July 20, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Strider and Doris Cavin Strider.

Susan worked for eighteen years at Ron’s Quick grocery and was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir and served on the Church Council. She overseen the memorial scholarship named after her late daughter, Kayla Berquist.

In addition to her parents, and daughter Kayla, one brother, Perry Strider, also preceded her in death.

Susan was an avid reader, having completed the Bible four times this year alone. She loved to knit prayer squares, giving those to many who were facing difficult situations in their life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amy (Greg) Gann of Kannapolis, NC; two sons, Jason Strider of Kannapolis, NC and Eric Strider (Melody) of Mooresville, NC; one brother, Mikel (Teresa) Strider; one sister-in-law, Tamra Strider and four grandchildren, Todd (Haley) Lee, Jr., Brandon Gann, Savannah Strider and Evelynn Strider.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at St. Enoch Lutheran Church.

A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Dale Cline officiating.
