Ms. Vickie Ann Leazer Prince “PISTOL”, age 59 of Salisbury, joined her heavenly father on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis after a very brief illness. Born January 23, 1962 in Rowan County, Vickie was the daughter of the late James E. Leazer, Sr. and Allie Frances Cauble Leazer. In addition to her parents, her brother, James E. Leazer, Jr. also preceded her in death.
Vickie was educated in Rowan County Schools and graduated from RCCC with high honors where she served as vice president of Phi Theta Kappa. She specialized as a professional bus driver for the Rowan-Salisbury School System for many years. She was also employed as a commercial hazmat driver, in addition to various businesses she owned, which included Guardian Angel Farm, Profit Merchandise Professionals, and Pistol’s Distribution Service.
Her loving and caring heart for people and animals lead her to train assistance dogs so that individuals could maintain their independence and self-esteem while providing a loving home for animals. She was a member of the Salisbury Elks Lodge, Samuel C. Hart Post (Auxiliary), and an avid member and team captain of the Charlotte Metro APA. She also volunteered at Faithful Friends Animal Rescue. She will always be remembered as a lover of horses by associates in the Salisbury and Love Valley area with whom she shared a horseback riding affiliation bond.
Those left to cherish her memory are her niece she raised and referenced as her “special God-sent child”, Michelle Leazer Medlin (Nathan) and five great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two sisters, Nancy Glenn (Ray) and Diane Brandon (Alvin), along with many friends within the horse and pool community.
Visitation for Vickie will be on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 11:00am at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury officiated by Rev. Eddie Graham. The family has requested you kindly remember Vickie with memorials in her honor to either Love Valley Horseman’s Association, 279 Love Valley Road, Love Valley, NC 28677 or to the Rowan County Humane Society, 112 W. Innes Street, Salisbury, NC 28144. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.linn-honeycutt.com. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Ms. Prince.
