
Landis-Wilma Upright Sells, 81, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Transitional Heath Services in Kannapolis, following a period of declining health. Born July 15, 1931 in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Parks Walter and Mary Bell Morris Upright. A 1949 graduate of Landis High, Mrs. Sells had retired from Dr. Earl Correll's medical office. Earlier in life, she had worked for Dr. Robert Kluttz and had been the secretary for Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Sells was a loving and devoted mother, sister and friend to many, and was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Wilma was an avid "Tarheel" basketball fan
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Guye and Mary Frances Driver.
Family members left with cherished memories include her daughters, Crystal Barker and Clarissa Sells, both of Salisbury; her brother, Walter P. Upright, of Ivahoe, NC; her sister, Margaret Henegar of Seminole, FL; nephew, Richard Lowe and other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:30-7:00 pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. A graveside service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday. May 26, 2013, at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
