There is a night I will never forget with Darryl and it was the night we planned a horror nights get together with our families! Darryl and Brittany brought a ice chest full of alcohol and we had the most fun drinking in universal parking lot acting fools and throwing a football. We had a blast going into the event and we felt like we where kings cause we all three got the night off to go. We all clicked and had amazing time! I will post a picture of the night but I know that Darryl even still revisits that day in the after life love you man so much thank you for being our partner in security and having each other's back!

I met Darryl in the 6th grade. It didn't take long at all to become best friends. We were playing at Kim's house one day. Darryl was on one side of the street and I was on the other, and we were hitting some kind of ball back and forth with baseball bats trying to not let it hit the ground. The ball ended up getting stuck in between to pipes on the power line in front of Kim's house. That's one of countless memories I share with Darryl. I even had lived with him becoming brother on top of best friends. We went to the mall every weekend, rode our scooters, skateboards and anything we could get out hands on. I remember one time. We had money for in-n-out and we were riding to scooters at the time, and we had the brightest idea to ride them to in n out while the streets were flooded from rain and on the way back I tried to gap the flood from the street to the side walk. Failed miserably and landed right in the water. We both laughed as hard as we could for a super long time after that. He was my best friend and brother as kids, then we became teens together rebelling and getting into as much trouble as we could but at the same time staying true at heart and never causing any harm, and even as matured young men we remained brothers. Worked several jobs together like Union Pacific moving cars and Scotts. Played pool and went off-roading, listened to music we had the same taste, we had soo much in common blood wouldn't have made us any closer we would say. Both our birthdays were even in may. He'd come over to my house were I lived with my grandparents and they'd treat him like their own. He could stay as long as he liked, come and go as he pleased, free reign of the fridge and even had some stuff in there that was only for him that nobody else would eat [mostly salsa extremely hot]. He will forever be loved and missed. Words cant even begin to describe how great of soul Darryl had. Just his name takes me back to the Havasu house, all the times we were riding around going places blaring music, drinking, playing pool, having the times of our lives. This is still so unreal. I miss you so much Darryl. Growing up you were always someone I could count on no matter the issues. Even though we didn't talk every day. When we did its like no time ever passed. You're never going to be truly gone to any of us because your memories will last our lifetime. I work with Darryl's mom, Kim Karsting. I didn't know Darryl personally, only through stories shared at work. When you work so closely at your job, your kids become their kids and their kids become your kids. When Kim called me to share her heartbreaking news, all I could do was cry. I had no words. Praise God, Darryl's memorial service was so perfect. The laughter, the tears, the memories. I didn't know him personally, but my heart sure smiled as if I did. The reception followed, and as I walked through the street and the crowd of friends & family. A stranger on the outside, but as I walked, hearing different conversations and Darryl's name being mentioned throughout, I felt all our hearts being united through this one man. And I was truly blessed. I pray comfort to your broken hearts. God bless all Darryl's family & his friends, that are also his family too.

I've known Darryl since kindergarten. I can't say that we were particularly close throughout high school (which is honestly one of the last times I saw him, but one of only a few childhood memories that has always stuck with me involved Darryl. We were about six and in first grade. He offered a beautiful 25 cent diamond ring to me and I speak about this often to people when reliving the early school days. A girl doesn't forget something like that ever! It's a cute little moment that I can always look back on. Although we weren't close it makes me sad to have witnessed somebody who I met when I was 5 grow up and create a life for themselves and have it all taken away. RIP Darryl. I'm glad to have met you.

I'm still in shock you were taken from us too soon. Some of my best childhood memories were the BBQ pool parties we had at grandpa and omas house. Hanging out at your house with Catie and Jan. You always had a smile on your face and I will never forget that....or playing on the kids house you were always hanging off something. The song Kryponite by 3 doors down will always remind me of you. I still remember like it was yesterday being kids and listening to it in yours and Jans room. Until we meet again. Love you! Xoxo

My brother from another mother, where do I begin? We shared so many awesome times growing up together, some fun, some happy, some sad, and some TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME!!! there are no words to describe the impact Darryl had on my life. from day 1 in middle school, Darryl always made me laugh and smile when I didn't want to. We used to talk on the phone for hours back in the day and talk about nothing at all. the last couple of times I got to spend with Darryl was were the greatest times of my life I've had in a while. I met Darryl in high school and we were homies right away. There was never a dull moment with that guy. We didn't speak or hangout in a few years but nothing ever changed. I would be there for him with a phone call. Rest in paradise Homie. Be ready to lose at billiards when I finally get up there man.

I never had the opportunity to hang out with Darryl but I knew and know so many people who were very close to him at OHS. Whether they were classmates, polo teammates, or lifelong friends. The way people spoke about Darryl always made have an overwhelming amount of respect and admiration for his character. He will be terribly missed by many and never forgotten by all of us fortunate enough to have known him. I hope family and friends alike can find peace knowing he affected so many people in such a positive way.

I met Darryl through Jason Mendoza. We'd hang out and kick it in the front yard enjoying some laughs. I know Jason would do anything to have you back. Our friendship was short lived but you were a great person. R.I.P Darryl.

In our own never stayed with the group of students and teachers, snowball fights against other schools and doing crazy stunts , spent days at a time at his house doing random stuff playing socom on ps2,scootering,skating,biking, highschool was rough for me due to my accident but he never judged me based on my disability,had tv video class with his all 4 years along with a few other classes, highschool ended and we went our own ways but still managed to keep in touch some how , love u Darryl u will never be forgotten much love , from me my wife and my family

Darryl was my best friend since 4th grade we had our ups and downs but who doesn't.
