Dorothy was born in Long Beach California to Jess and Ernastine Ybarra. She attended Bishop Conaty Catholic school .
She met her husband Robert Briggs while he was stationed one the U.S.S. England DLG 22 at the Long Beach Navel Station .
Ten days later they were married in Las Vegas on Nov .17, 1965 . They were in a hurry because she was going to marry someone else. They already had the engagement party and the wedding was all set, and Robert was to go overseas to Vietnam in a few weeks .
They knew they were right for each other , and their marriage lasted 56 years.
She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Her three children , Therese, Bridgette and Robert Jr. She had many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Dorothy was hospitalized for over and month and after two surgeries she lost her battle at Loma Linda hospital on Jan20, 2022.
She will be forever in our hearts.
