To the Bump family, 
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Del, may peace be with you as you share memories and grieve Del passing.  
I do have to say, we all grew up together most of us going to school with one of the boys. My mom also went to High School with Del, now that goes way back.  Del was a great man and if you grew up in Chowchilla, Del was everywhere, great and fond memories of him.

To my Bump almost siblings!
Your parents were almost like our parents!
So many memories over the years.
One of my favorite pictures is of  Del and me , age 5-sitting cuddled on my parents couch. Our parents used to not only attend the same church but square danced together,,RV’d together and genuinely enjoyed each others company. 
They will always have a special place in my heart!
Your dad is now reunited in heaven and rejoicing with my Mom and Dad once again.

So sorry for this tremendous loss. Del was a special family friend . My parents were friends with Del and Velma. I have many memories of this family. Sending strength and comfort to all.

Wow.   Del and Vel , were a HUGE part of my childhood and young adult life. And, really my older adult life too!  I do believe Delmar and Velma were my parents first friends in Chowchilla.  Way back in the 1950’s.  I remember the groans of my sisters when we heard the Bump boys wee comin over!! Oh no! They tear our dolls heads off!  Funny funny to think about it now all these years later. Dave married my best friend Vickie, and we still have a relationship to this day.  

Fast forward to the retirement years.  Del and Vel still came over to the house on a regular basis to just sit and chat and laugh and have ice cream.  No greeting required just a “hello!” As they came through the unlocked door.  It was as casual and normal as Apple pie. Chowchilla.  What a great place to be raised.

Even the grandkids were adults by now, and  knew who they were.   Many dips in the pool over at Del and Vel’s.  Just like being with old old friends that became family. They were. 

Delmar was always kind and funny and busy. 
Him and my dad Ed did many things together. Bowling and community service and both insurance agents.  

Thanks Del for being there in my rock steady childhood.  You were a cog in the wheel of my security growing up with quality,  faithful, fun 
Folks looking out for me. (Still not sure about that Dave tho, he’s sketchy) lol.,

I am sorry for the loss of “Grandad” Bump. He has now earned his right to  rest in peace. Many years of family activities, work, visits and  numerous insurance clients.  He always called me by my birth name Caterina because he wrote my first automobile policy and he said he liked my name and that I should go by that name. I always remembered that of Del. As Nate earlier stated he was Gadget Grandad and my memory of his gadgets will not be forgotten.  Be at peace Del.

FIVE generations of Bump lineage in this photo...truly grateful to have had continuous quality time with Grandad over the years.

Our middle son Lance absolutely cherishes his time with family in Chowchilla, with Grandad visits being a key feature...from flying drones to actually flying planes!

'Gadget Grandad' is what we called him! Whether it was the 'better than VHS' BetaMax, self-built 'dark room' for photography, camcorder, first laptop, latest in woodworking technology, or even drones Grandad shared his love for gadgets with any and all!

Every Sunday you could count on him somewhere in Chowchilla eating breakfast with friends, family, or both! As a perpetual hobbyist, he didn't just break bread...he made it. For years, we ate Grandad's famous homemade bread after school and holidays when he made the 'big' batches of various flavors.

Will never forget Grandad's passion to get a family photo EVERY year at Christmas or any other gatherings. A lover of the newest technology, he was taking 'seflies' in the 80's with his camera timers!

Condolences to the Bump Family, Del was a great man,  He wrote my Insurance Policy when I first started Driving.  May He RIP

My favorite memories looking back aren't the big holidays. They’re the small moments. Like him sitting in his favorite chair with the TV on low or the way he’d tinker with tools to keep his hands busy. He’d give you this look, not a flashy smile, but a subtle nod that let you know he saw you and he was proud.

So sorry for the family of Delmar Bump.   He was our first neighbor when I married in March 1962.   We, with others, formed the Chowchilla RVers and made many trips all over the valley and once a year had a group outing at the lake.   Our total numbers varied at every outing fifteen to 50 rigs.  Each outing was hosted by a different family and consisted with a big meal with all contributing a dishes. I  was secretary of the club and took reservations and collected funds and all the attendees had to do was show up on the date and enjoy a exciting, restful and fun few  days.  Nothing but sweet memories of Delmar and all his family.
