June 19, 1931 ~ September 13, 2025
Glenda Wolfshorndl passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, in Fresno, California, at the age of 94. She was born on June 19, 1931, in Madera County, California, to Lesley and Ora Mae Wisener.
Glenda grew up in the Dairyland area alongside her three brothers; RC, Hubert, and Larry; and her three sisters, Sybil, Joyce, and Janice.
She attended Bethel Elementary School and graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1949. On March 17, 1951, she married the love of her life, John Wolfshorndl. Together, they raised their family on the ranch, instilling in their children a deep appreciation for hard work, faith, and family. After their children completed college, Glenda and John continued to live on the ranch until moving into town in 2009.
Glenda was a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chowchilla, where she remained a devoted and faithful member throughout her life. Her quiet strength and steady presence were a constant support in the church community, especially through her work with the women’s guild and their Soup and Salad luncheons.
She was happiest when surrounded by family, babysitting grandchildren, baking, preserving food, or crafting beautiful ceramics. Glenda loved to travel, but her heart was always at home.
Soft-spoken and humble, Glenda never sought the spotlight. She preferred to serve quietly, often working behind the scenes to support others. Her legacy is one of unwavering love, selflessness, and grace.
She is survived by her children; Roger, Susan, and Mark, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Glenda will be deeply missed, but her gentle spirit and enduring love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
"You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God,"
1 Peter 3:4
"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live".
John 11:25-26
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am".
John 14: 1-3
A Graveside Service for Glenda will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Chowchilla District Cemetery, 23359 Road 14 1/2, Chowchilla, California.
