Mel was born on October 14, 1945 in Columbus, Indiana. He Graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1964. After graduating he served in the United States Air Force from 1964 – 1968. During his service he fought in the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1967. He then met his wife, Marcia while stationed in Great Falls, MT. They got married in March 1970.
They have 3 children, Melody (Bobby) Dibler, Mark (Michelle) Selby and Matthew (Melanie) Selby. They have 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mel was surrounded by family during his passing on January 20, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Loueida Selby, 2 brothers, James Paul and Bob Selby, grandson, Dylan Selby and his son Matthew Selby.
He will be remembered as a hard-working and caring man and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Chowchilla District Cemetery.
