Phillip is survived by his wife Ruby Allen, his sister Susie Ring, his grandkids Meghan Bowerman and Chase Hatcher, his great granddaughter Peyton Sanford and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Agnes and Millard Allen, his three brothers Jim, Jerry and David, and his daughter Elaine Allen.
Phillip was born on July 16th, 1944 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Phillip graduated from Chowchilla Union High School in 1962. After high school Phillip joined the United States Army. Later in 1967 he married his wife Ruby Thornton. In May of 1969 they welcomed their daughter Elaine Allen.
Phillip served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. He attended boot camp at Fort Ord, California. Phillip then was stationed in Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he was a general supply specialist and a stock control clerk. While in the army he earned an expert badge in carbine and also a sharpshooter badge. Phillip worked for Aanonson Sprinkler in Madera, California most of his life. At Aanonson he delivered parts and was often in charge of being the store clerk. He worked there for almost 30 years until his retirement in 2009.
Phillip enjoyed his friendships and social life. He often attended Chowchilla football and baseball games and enjoyed watching young athletes play, including his grandson Chase. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was head over heels for his great granddaughter Peyton. Phillip was always stopping by to hang out with her and bring her goodies. Phillips hobbies included shooting and hunting. He taught both of his grandchildren how to shoot at a young age.
Phillip was often seen at Mcdonalds every morning for his coffee get-togethers with his closest friends.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Valley Harvest Church, 717 Robertson Blvd., Chowchilla, California at 11:00 am.
