End of Watch: October 3, 2025
Beloved Father, Son, and Hero.
Officer Barrantes devoted nearly 20 years of his life to serving in law enforcement, working in many different capacities throughout his career. He was known for his strong sense of duty, compassion, and commitment to keeping his community safe.
More than an officer, Raymond was a devoted father who lived for his children; Khali (16), Karah (13), and Conner (11). He spent countless hours cheering them on at their sporting events and celebrating every accomplishment, big or small. His children were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in being their dad.
He is survived by his children, his parents, Helga Downs and Juan Ramon Barrantes; stepfather, Bill Van Worth; siblings, Edson Barrantes (Jessica); Irene Lelandais (Joseph); Jennifer Montemurro (Paul) and Mike Van Worth (Monica). Raymond also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, whom he adored and supported endlessly.
Raymond will be remembered for his infectious smile, contagious laugh, and the love he had for family, friends, and girlfriend Sabrina Boyett. His presence filled every room, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
