Jerry Yates

A devoted husband, quiet caretaker and steadfast friend, Jerry spent his retirement embracing the beauty of the world around him. Born on July 4, 1947, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Clifford and Alice Yates, He graduated from Westfall High School, Class of 1968, was drafted and served in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from American Electric Power.

Jerry will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet wisdom, and dedication to his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Yates; his sons, Jason (Erin) Yates and Brad Yates; his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Madalynn, Lyndsey, Natalie, Tyler, and Peyton; sisters, Monica Ramey and Bev Purdum, and brother, Kenny Yates.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that you honor Jerry’s memory in a way he would have liked: reach out to someone you haven’t talked to in a while and take time to enjoy the company and companionship of your loved ones.

A Graveside Service to honor Jerry will be on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 11:00 am at Springlawn Cemetery, 9 US-RT 22, Williamsport, Ohio. All are welcome to attend.
