Juanita G. Abernathy

Juanita was born April 9, 1916 at Clarksville, TN to Walter Ray and Mildred (Metcalf) Gaisser. She married Andrew M. Abernathy November 21, 1937 at Clarksville, TN and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1968. She was a pattern grader for CBS Dress Company. She enjoyed oil painting, and designing wedding and prom dresses. She was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Henderson, KY.

Juanita is survived by two daughters Dorothy Thomas (& her husband John) of Cisne, IL and Maureen McCartney (& her husband Doug) of Donham Springs, LA and one sister Marguerite Rushner of Memphis, TN. Five grandchildren – Keith, Dennis, Tim, Katrina and Melissa; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son George (Butch) Abernathy and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral mass for Juanita Abernathy will be 12:00Noon Monday, February 18th, 2013 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Henderson, KY. Burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, KY. There will be no visitation.

Memorials in memory of Juanita Abernathy may be given to Memorial Mass at any Catholic Church.
