

Carrie Edwards Rogers August 6, 1937 – March 9, 2015 Clayton: Carrie Edwards Rogers, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Brian Center in Clayton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. She was a native of Wayne County, and a daughter of the late Samuel David Edwards and the late Goldie Hayes Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Rogers; two sisters, Ruby Edwards McLeod and Mary Frances Edwards Holland; and two brothers, Rudolph Edwards and Roland Edwards. Mrs. Rogers was retired from Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield and was a long time member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Rhonda Rogers; four brothers, Billy Edwards of Winston-Salem, Warren Edwards of Smyrna, Don Edwards of Princeton and Dennis Edwards of Selma; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece Connie Vann.
