Catherine Anne Federico, 76, devoted mother and Mimi, was granted her Angel wings on January 3, 2022. Cathy or Mimi as she was known by her family, friends, and students was born on September 23, 1945 in Haverhill, MA. to the late George J. and Anna Marcelonis Noonan.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Sacca and husband, Richard; the lights of her life, her two grandchildren, Bryanna and Christopher; sisters, Therese Zartarian, Anne Sarbanis; brothers, Joseph Noonan, Michael Noonan and wife, Marylou; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary McElroy, Patricia Labbe, Gerard Noonan and Miriam Noonan.
Mimi worked and retired from the city of Haverhill. After she retired, she still chose to work as a substitute teacher for Johnston County schools. Her students adored her. At school or out of school students would make sure to go get their hug from her. Mimi impacted everyone who met her and had an infectious smile and the kindest heart. Whether she was volunteering in the community or baking goodies to share, her passion was to do for others and make them happy. For 35 years, she hosted her annual Christmas open house to share the love to all of her family and friends.
The loss of this amazing woman will be felt by many, a memorial service celebrating Mimi's life will be held on Tuesday, January 11th 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Generation Church in Clayton, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mimi's honor can be made to St. Jude Childrens’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society (www.donate3.cancer.org).
