Charles Clifton Peterson, 74 passed away Wednesday, funeral services will be held 2:00 Sunday in the Chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Lockamy and Rev. Johnny Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Esther D. Peterson, daughters, Sarah Peterson of Raleigh and Rosa Peterson of Dunn, granddaughter, Kaylee Rae, sisters, Laura Ferrell of Dunn, Margie Jones and her husband Bobby, Frances Averette and Pauline Peterson all of Newport, sisters-in-law, Joy Peterson of Newport, Helen Dabbs of Raleigh, Kathy Mansell of Selma and Linda Childress of Benson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his long time special friend Thomas “Tuck” Gray of Four Oaks. Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Peterson of Benson and Kenneth Peterson of Newport.
