Eugene was born on October 16, 1939 to the late Eli and Leola Evans Woodall, in Wake County. He graduated Smithfield High School in 1958. During his school years Eugene received many awards for his crops while active in the 4-H. He was a member of the Johnston County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He farmed until he suffered a stroke in 2005, which forced him to retire.
At the request of Eugene, the family will not be having any public services.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Otto Woodall; son, Doug Woodall; daughters, Paula Woodall and Jo Woodall-Kornegay (Kelvin); grandchildren, Paul and Emily Eldridge; brother, Charles Woodall (Martha); and sister, Linda Gordon; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins..
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the Johnston County 4-H, 2736 NC 210, Smithfield, NC 27577.
