George Henry Gerrell

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Branch Chapel with Pastor Eric Narron officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church, prior to the service.

He was born in Johnston County on November 29, 1969 to Henry "Woody" Willard Gerrell and Barbara Ann Wadsworth Gerrell.

He owned a concrete business for many years and served his community as a volunteer firefighter with Thanksgiving and Smithfield Fire Department in past years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren who called him “Papa G”. He also loved his canine companions.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Deborah Taylor; children, Megan Gerrell (Jamie) Amber Ivey (Britton) Joshua Gerrell (Caitlyn); grandchildren, Raelynn Ivey, Hudson and Grayson Riewestahl, Paisley Gerrell, Penny Lock; brothers, James Gerrell (Heather), Jon Gerrell (Sherry); and many nieces and nephews

Pallbearers for George's funeral service are Jody Gerrell, Alvin Gerrell, John Richardson, Abe Richardson, Richard Bass, and Gabriel Flores. Honorary pallbearers are Carson Gerrell, Nicholas Gerrell, and Colin Gerrell.
