He was proceeded in death by his parents Lucas and Nina Boyette and brother Steve Boyette of Clayton. He is survived by his brother Donnie Boyette of Clayton and several cousins
Earl was a graduate of Clayton High School where he excelled in football and track earning the State record holder in the 440 track . After graduating he continued his education at Chowan College where he continued to excel in track earning his Letter during his first year .
After college Earl returned to the family farm to pursue his love of agriculture, producing tobacco, soybeans, sweet potatoes and raising livestock. He loved fishing, bird hunting and spending many Sundays with family grilling chickens and making homemade banana ice cream on the front porch.
