Joann DeFelice Cassone, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC. Born in Brooklyn New York on March 2, 1949, she was a daughter to the late Felix and Adeline DeFelice.
Joann was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, and The Women’s Club of Clayton.
Joann’s grace and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. With a heart as warm as her welcoming smile, she epitomized kindness and selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether through a comforting embrace or a homemade meal, she had an innate ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. Her unwavering devotion to her family was evident in every moment spent together, each memory a testament to her boundless love and affection.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love will be deeply missed by her beloved family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing, and may we strive to honor her legacy by embodying the same kindness and generosity she so effortlessly shared with her family, friends, and community.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at St. Ann Catholic Church. An urn burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, Joann is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Cassone and brother, Richard DeFelice.
Surviving are her son, Phillip Oddo and wife Heather of Clayton, NC; grandson, Phillip Oddo of Clayton, NC; granddaughter, Jolene Oddo of Clayton, NC; sister, Yolanda Henry of Highland, NY; nephew, Daren Henry of Brooklyn, NY; and niece, Christina Allen of Huntingtown, Maryland.
