John Wayne Jargstorf

John Wayne Jargstorf, 77, of Clayton, left for Heaven Wednesday evening, November 8th, 2023, at his home in Clayton, NC. He was born on November 7th, 1946, in Logansport, IN, to the late William & Louise Jargstorf.

John enlisted in the United States Air Force in March 1967. He earned a bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Arizona and then a Masters in International Relations from Troy State. His duty stations included Texas, Thailand, the Philippines, Germany, South Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, Okinawa, & Hawai’i. He retired from the USAF as a Lt. Col in 1997. John served as Director of Investigations for the North Carolina Medical Board for eight years and then worked at Fidelity Investments for over a decade before retiring.

John was a cantor at St. Ann Catholic Church. He stocked the food pantry with his grandson, Jachob, after mass. John was active with his wife, Donna, in World Wide Marriage Encounter since 1975. In John’s leisure, he enjoyed music and singing, cruising and traveling with his family, reading, metal detecting, collecting sports cards, food pantry poker, and golfing with his friends. John will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and gentle social butterfly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 4057 US 70 BUS, Clayton, NC. A gathering will follow in the social hall.

Mr. Jargstorf is survived by his wife, Donna Van Buskirk Jargstorf; sons, Jeffrey Jargstorf of Meridian, ID and Joel Jargstorf of Clayton, NC; daughter in law Jennifer Olm Jargstorf, grandchildren, Jachob Jargstorf of Clayton, Koby Jargstorf of Seattle, WA, and Kelsey Jargstorf of Meridian, ID; brother William H. Jargstorf, Jr., sister Barbara Wilson. He is preceded in passing by his sister, Phyllis Bishop.
