

Joyce J. (King) Morlan of Clayton, NC, formerly of West Lafayette, IN, passed away on Friday, September 26. She was born on April 17, 1947, to the late Leland and Veva (Henry) King of Eldora, IA. In 1961, her family moved from Iowa to Indiana. Joyce was a 1965 graduate of Oxford High School and 1970 graduate of Indiana Business College. She married Gerald Morlan in April 1967, and they were married for 31 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Joyce loved spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandson. She was a proud “Boilermaker”, working at Purdue University in 1974 and retiring in January 2020. Upon retirement, Joyce relocated to North Carolina to be with family.
Joyce is survived by two daughters – Tanya Marie Morlan of Lafayette, IN; Christina Jo (Morlan) Sheek of Clayton, NC; her grandchild, Riddick James Sheek; two sisters, Marilyn (King) Oliver of Lafayette, IN; Rose Marie King of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of Joyce’s life will be held.
