Mike, I didn’t get a chance to get to know you until my wedding, but the legendary stories of you and the Jackson Heights crew made me feel like I knew you forever.  I am so sad that you left us too soon and we can’t create any new stories .  Although the memories were few, the ones that I have were filled with fun and laughter and I will always remember and cherish them.

This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write in my life Maybe it’s because my heart cannot accept the reality of what has happened Growing up in Jackson Heights Started a friendship of a lifetime Little Mike yes, he was once little Became my partner in crime For over 50 years we had our moments Watch, stubborn Italians don’t But always walked away, laughing I will always cherish the times we’ve had together And you will always be remembered and missed I love you, Mike.

Mike was a dedicated and enthusiastic member of our church.   We spent many hours talking about the Bible and especially politics.   He had a vibrant and encouraging personality which everyone loved.   Every Sabbath, Mike would be sure to go the assisted living facility and pick up one of our senior elders and bring him to worship services.     His absence will create a great void in our congregation.   Mike firmly put his hope in the resurrection from the dead through faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ.   Although grieving now for his loss, I look forward to seeing him again in the world to come that lies beyond the grave.    Rest in peace Mike.

We shared so many good times with Mike & Susan. Mike was one of the funniest guys we know and Susan, his perfect match. We will cherish those memories forever. Rest Peacefully Mike. You will never be forgotten. To Susan and the rest of the family, please accept our deepest condolences.

I’ve been lucky to know Mike and Susan for almost 3 years now. Both of them have always been so easy to talk to. We’ve been playing golf together sometimes with Vince and sometimes without but Mike always had Susan with him. I’ve always loved recanting my golf outings with my wife afterwards. Mike was hilarious, I loved his stories.
Susan had the most patience. If she would hit a bad shot, Mike would say,
“Oh what are you doing Susan?” “You gotta keep your head still” or something like that. 
Then he’d hit his shot and she always gave him encouragement. At first I was a little thrown back by their canter but soon learned how close and in love the two were. I’m sorry that we have lost this wonderful comedian and friend. I will truly miss him.

Before he retired, Mike was a longtime member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 28 of NYC and Long Island. He was a most entertaining conspiracy theorist (the Moon is not real!), great storyteller, and my favorite golf buddy over the past 4 years. Mulligan Mike, as Susan and I named him recently, loved golf, always "found" his ball whenever it landed deep in the forest or water hazard, would never play without Susan, had his own set of unique golf rules (take that USGA!), and had Susan take a photo of him hitting his first shot of every round of golf he played and sent it to his friend Jim in Long Island. If you met Mike once you would never forget him. He was an eternal optimist, a history buff, made really good meatballs, and never spoke ill of anyone in my presence. He was looking forward to his new Indian motorcycle, which was due to be delivered in two weeks. I’ll miss him.

Memories, we have many growing up in Jackson Heights as kids, then as men. Life takes us in different paths logistically. I haven't seen Mike in a number of years, that being said all of us on 72 Street had a bond that will never be broken. We fought each other one minute then the best of friends the next. My memories with Mike I will cherish from our early days and beyond, Mike always had an opinion or just liked to get a reaction out of you, that was Mike.
My heartfelt condolences to Mike's family, he's at peace now with the Angels, his Mom and Grandma.
Rest in Peace Mike, you'll always be remembered.
