

Lynwood Van Hoy, 61, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He has ended his battle with Multiple System Atrophy-Parkinsonism (MSA-P). He traveled his journey with a positive word for everyone, a story to make you laugh, and love for everyone around him. We can find comfort in knowing that he is in his garden spot in heaven, able to run, walk and work with his hands.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon J. Van Hoy; sons, Andrew H. Van Hoy and wife Abby of Four Oaks, Austin M. Van Hoy and special friend Alyssa along with her son Westin of Smithfield, stepdaughter, Rebecca J. Charles and husband Nolan of Clayton; mother, Louise P. Van Hoy of Clayton; grandchildren, Emma Bonner, Joseph Van Hoy, and Dawson Charles; sisters, Cyndy Van Hoy of Pelham, Wyndy Dudley and husband Greg of Clayton; mother-in-law, Rosa Johnson of Smithfield; brother-in-law, Phillip Johnson and wife Christine of Garner; former spouse, Lucinda J. Van Hoy of Four Oaks; many loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and caretakers.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Harding Van Hoy.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 2:00 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with visitation an hour before the service at 1:00.
