Mr. Norvelle Coats “Bunk” Cole, 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Powhatan FWB Church, 3648 Powhatan Road, Clayton, NC 27527. Burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park will follow. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 7-9PM at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 US Hwy 70 Business West, Clayton, NC 27520. A native of Wayne County, Bunk was born July 2, 1924 to the late Emmett and Meta Coats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice W. Cole, and a daughter, Sherrie C. Pourron. He is survived by his son, Danny and wife, Sue Cole, of Clayton; daughters, Cathy Johnson, of Clayton, Kay Godwin and husband, Randy, of Clayton, and Beverly Price and husband, Alan, of Clayton; son in law, Wayne Pourron, of Clayton; brother, Frank Cole; sister, Judy Godwin; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
