

Richard Thomas Lorith, age 55, of Raleigh, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Richard was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 2, 1967. He was the son of Barbara Register Lorith Clark and the late Alan Robert Lorith.
Rick grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and graduated from Hollywood Hills High School and attended Broward Community College.
Richard proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1989 to 1993 serving aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt during Operation Desert Storm.
He was employed by Conagra from 2007-2011 and was employed by Automatic rolls of North Carolina/ Northeast Foods at the time of his death. He was extremely proud of his job- having not missed a single day of work for 13 years.
The love of his life is sports having been both a player and fan. He played football and soccer during his youth. He was a lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins and University of Miami Hurricanes. He was also a season ticket holder for both Carolina Hurricanes Hockey and North Carolina Football Club soccer games. He absolutely loved traveling to out of town Hurricanes games to support his team!
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Lorith Clark; sisters, Susan Lorith Sabin and Cynthia Lorith Monroe. He is also survived by stepsiblings, Chrissy Blackwell, Thomas Blackwell, and Laura Clark. He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Lorith and his stepmother, Sandra Blackwell Lorith.
