

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 8, 2026 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina with Pastor David Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
He was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on September 14, 1942 to the late Frank T. Booth and the late Harriett Weick Booth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only sister, Emmy Lou Vaughan and her husband Ed Vaughan.
Bob attended Dutchess Community College where he was a Junior College All-American baseball player. He transferred to the University of Connecticut to pitch for the Huskies. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Bob continued playing baseball in the Boston Red Sox farm system. After his baseball career, Bob worked as a manager at IBM for over 30 years.
In life, Bob prioritized his family. Bob enjoyed spending time at the beach and vacationing with family. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and would often be present at their youth, high school, and college sporting events. Bob enjoyed root beer floats, the New York Mets, the New York Giants, playing golf, and staying active with long walks.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Sharon C. Booth.
He is also survived by his daughter Kristin Booth and her partner Susan Norwood; his daughter Corrin Bowers, husband Tom Bowers, their children Benjamin, Brooke, and Blair; his daughter Kerry Hamrick, husband Jason Hamrick, their children CC, Booth, and Katie; his son Robert T. Booth, wife Jill Booth, their children Brenna, Riley, and Brady; and his son William Jay Booth, wife Sharon E. Booth, their daughter Josephine; and several nieces and nephews.
