SMITHFIELD – Robert Lowell Bowman, age 74, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021. There are no services planned at this time. Mr. Bowman was born on October 29, 1946 in Johnston County to the late Warren Bowman and the late Hilda Penny Bowman. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a retiree from Rockwell International/ Edward Valves and NC State University. He enjoyed being the local pecan man, loved being on a boat fishing, golfcart or his motorcycle, and most importantly being around his family, friends and his sweet Molly girl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Glenn Williams and Carrie “Hope” Sawyer. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandra Allen Bowman; sons, Steven Bowman, Warren Bowman (Kara Luton); daughter, Wanda Bowman (Craig Eichner); grandchildren, Brittany (Matthew) Bredbenner and Clay Arnold; great grandchildren, Lucas and Cooper Bredbenner; step-daughter Vicki Brown (Tim); step-grandchildren T.J., Anna Grace and Allen Brown; Step-Son, Michael Barbour and sister, Penny Kelly.
