

Robert Fulton Holloman, age 86, of Clayton, NC, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born in Johnston County, on July 15, 1938, he was a son to the late Andrew Jackson Hollomon and Mary Elizabeth “Bettie” Cox Hollomon. Fulton was the third youngest of 17 children.
Fulton Graduated with a High School diploma from Princeton High School in 1956. Following 5 years of service in the United States Navy, he worked for the United States Postal Service in Raleigh, NC until he retired, as a Postmaster, in 1992. Following his retirement, he enjoyed helping one of his best friends farm for many years. Fulton was very patriotic and extremely proud of his time in the Navy.
Known to his wife, family and close friends as Fulton, to his children as Daddy, and to grandchildren and great grandchildren as Papa, he loved his family and friends very much and was as loyal as they come. He was a true man of his word. He had a very good and witty sense of humor and was quick to make people laugh.
A lover of the outdoors and nature, he especially looked forward to deer hunting with his best buddies, who called him “Bull”, nearly every year of his adult life.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm, just prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Wiley Theodore “Milley” Holloman, Myrtle Mozelle “Mertie” Hollomon Strickland, Samuel Chester Hollomon, Luther Daniel Hollomon, Luby Franklin Hollomon Sr., Emma Catherine Holloman Nichols, James Wright Holloman, Leon Jackson Holloman, Peggy Ann Holloman Parrish, Robertson Lowe “George” Hollomon, Mary Virginia Holloman Miller, Roberta “Bert” Hollomon Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of Wife of 62 years, Carol Martin Holloman; daughter, Robin H. Cross ( David); son, Robert F. Holloman Jr; grandchildren, Chase G. DeVaney (Brittney), Austin A. Cross (Meghan), Aaron D. Cross, Elizabeth C. Cross, Ethan D. Cross; great grandchildren, Alayna G. DeVaney, Grayson J. DeVaney, Forrest C. F. Cross, and Aurora L. Cross; sister-in-law, Janice M. Turner, and many nephews and nieces.
