CLAYTON – Chief Warrant Officer and beloved father Ronald Edwin Combs, age 79, passed away at his home in Clayton, NC on January 12, 2021.
He was born June 7, 1941 in Omaha, NE to the late Edwin Willis Combs and the late Alice Vinduska Combs. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having retired after serving for 23 years. He enjoyed reading, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with his friends and family especially his grandson and granddaughter. He was an active member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church serving as an Altar Server, Catechist and Knight of Columbus.
He is survived by his three daughters, Kaemi Matthews (Jimmy Matthews), Karol Stanford (Scott Stanford), and Kwane Neely (Jerry Neely); grandchildren, Justin Matthews and Remy Stanford; sister, Judy Stone (Bob Stone).
A private visitation to receive immediate family and close friends will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church (Clayton, NC) prior to a funeral Mass with an interment at Knollwood Cemetery to follow. Due to COVID-19, the mass will be live streamed via Facebook through St. Ann’s Catholic Church (Clayton, NC) on January 18, 2021 at 1:00 pm .
