

A graveside committal service will be conducted for Ruby Pearl Roberts Page Mutu at 1:45 PM Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Eastern Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Visitation is on Sunday June 12 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm and on Monday June 13 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina.
She was born in Ontario, Canada on May 26, 1924 to the late Milton John Roberts and the late Alta Pearl Locker Roberts Galbraith. She became a US citizen in 1963. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gene Alexander Page and his wife Mary; sister, Alta Doloris Anne Roberts Shearer; brother, Howard John Winyard Roberts and his wife Eldora; step-father, Donald Galbraith.
Ruby raised her family in Hazel Park, Michigan and retired from Ford Motor Company as a Production Inspector after 28 1/2 years. She spent 34 of her retirement years in Bonita Springs, Florida from 1983 to 2017. Ruby spent the last 4 ½ years of life in Clayton, North Carolina in the care of her husband, Adam and daughter, Diane and son-in-law, Chris Cuc.
She loved her pets, her dogs: Champ, Pretzel, Lucky, and Rusty. She cared for all the stray cats in the neighborhood and named them all. Ruby enjoyed traveling, camping, crafts, antiquing, collecting shells, walking the beach, swimming at sunset in inner tubes with Adam, entertaining friends and family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Throughout the years, her home in Bonita Springs became the gathering place of constant visitors and her dining room table was her favorite place to sit and talk and play cards. Her home was a treasure of “collectibles”. Her favorite hobby was gardening and her yard was abundant with native flora.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Adam Mutu of Clayton, NC;
four of her five children, Ruby Colleen Bucchare of Macomb, MI, Valarie L. Alvey (Kevin) of Broomfield, CO, Maria Sue Mutu Hubbuch (Mark) of Naples, FL, and Adam Diane Cuc (Chris) of Clayton, NC;
twelve grandchildren: Angela Raedel (Scott) of Clinton Twp, MI, Lisa Radjewski (Chris) of Macomb, MI, Vincent Bucchare (Jenifer) of Macomb, MI, James Blair of Brookings, OR, Shannon Kelsay of Broomfield, CO, Jennifer Millette (Justin) of Johnstown, CO, Jason Page (Andrea) of Chesterfield, MI, Paul Page (Sarah) of Bonita Springs, FL, Matthew Page (Michael) of Cape Coral, FL, Dani (Grant) NC, Sarah Rixon (Joseph) of Clifton, NJ, and Elizabeth Anshutz (Ryan) of Turlock, CA;
twenty-five great grandchildren: Travis, Samantha, Matthew, Allyson, Johnny, Melanie, Austin, Hailey, Ashley, Chase, Chandler, Allison, Jacobe, Arial, Caleb, Kanyon, Natalie, Lucas, Julianne, Jason, Jr., Jaxson, Jacob, Henry, Caleb and Olive;
four great-great grandchildren: Ezra, Kora, Avarey, and Avayah;
nephew and niece, Rick Roberts (Deb) of Ontario, Canada and Patricia Godfroy (Marce) also of Ontario, Canada.
She responded to many names: Ruby, Mom, Grandma, GiGi, Slick, and Sugar Lips.
We love you and feel richly blessed to have had you all these years. You taught us the virtues of love, patience, health, generosity, service, and most important: Trust in God. Watch over us now from Heaven and finally Rest In Peace. We hold you in our heart forever, with love.
