Samuel Arch Moore, 68, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017. A native of Raleigh, Sam as born January 30, 1949 to Lucy and the late Lewis Arch Moore. He loved hunting in his early days and later on developed a love for golf. Sam was a great story teller and had a story for every occasion. An avid Wolfpack fan, Sam attended NC State University and received an associate degree in 1970, before serving proudly in the US Army 82nd Airborne. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 2:00 pm in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US 70 Business HWY W, Clayton, NC 27520. The family will receive friends following the service. Sam is survived by his son, Bradley Moore and wife, Pinchy Mohanty Moore; mother, Lucy Moore; grandson, Arch Lewis Brij Moore; sister, Emily Hill; brother, Don Moore and wife, Elaine; nephew, Richard Moore; nieces, Lynn Moore Rowland and Rachel Hill; as well as several nieces and a nephew.
