Steven Wayne Jarman, of Clayton North Carolina, passed away on May 5, 2021,
surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 52.
Steve was born on February 18, 1969 to Charles and Peggy Jarman. He graduated
from Garner High School in 1987. He held many jobs in the printing industry until he
met his wife, Joy, and started a family, moving to work for many years at Progress
Energy. Although he waited until later in life, he didn’t let time be an obstacle, and
he graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 2010 with two bachelor’s
degrees in business and computer science, serving as an inspiration to his family
that it is never too late to chase your dreams. Steve used his degrees to move up in
the company to the title of Material Specialist Representative for Duke Energy,
working hard every day to ensure that the job got done, helping to provide power
for families across the state, even in times of natural disaster. He was dedicated to
providing the best for his family, always doing everything he could to ensure a good
life and future for his loved ones. He loved golfing with his brother and fishing with
his son, always quick with a laugh and a kind-hearted smile to brighten up the
world.
Steve is survived by his parents, Charles and Peggy, brother, Chuck, sister, Cindy,
wife, Joy, and two sons, Logan and Jordan, who carry on memories of a wonderful
life full of ups and downs. Although there were hardships and turmoil along the
way, the best memories, collected from a life full of adventure, are what will be
cherished and fondly remembered in times of doubt and uncertainty. He may be
gone from this world, but he is still with us in our hearts, and his legacy will live on.
His death will be mourned, but more importantly, his life will be celebrated. As he
moves on to the next great adventure, free from the pain of this world, those he left
behind will never forget the way his life touched all of ours.
He will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Park on May 12 at 1 pm. All of his
friends and family are welcome to say goodbye to him in this life, and to wish him
luck as he enters the next chapter.
