Tony Curtis Deans

SELMA – Tony Curtis Deans, age 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 Rex UNC Hospital in Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July17, 2021 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton with Pastor John Eklund officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday July 17, 2021 at the funeral home prior to the service.

He was born on April 11, 1954 in Johnston County to the late William Curtis Deans and the late Elgie Pearl Langley Deans.

Tony was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from construction work. He enjoyed UNC Tarheels and Panthers football, hanging with his kids and grandkids, watching TV and playing his beloved puppies Maggie and Buddy.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Norita Riggs Deans; sister Marilyn “Joy” Deans, two daughters, Brook Renee Deans Price, husband Ken Price and Heather Deans; step-children, Johnette Sue Edwards and husband Ken Edwards and Austie Matheny ; grandchildren, Hunter Jones, Colby Jones, Tyler Price, Joshua Price, Olivia Deans, Aubrey Deans, Bravin Holmes, Keisha Bryant and husband Jamie, Christina Godwin and husband Steven, Carissa Edwards, Jessica Pollock, Christina Ray and husband Antwan, Richard Matheny Jr., Carol Matheny ; great grandchildren, Alexis Bryant, Jamie Bryant Jr, Peighton Godwin, Greyson Godwin, Donnell Perry Jr., Kendrick Matheny, Amya King, River Matheny, Rowen Matheny, Ashton Ray and Aiden Ray with two on the way (the circle of life continues),and his niece Meagan Deans and children Chloe, Caroline and Timothy and aunt Ann Langley Davis and husband Percy.
