Whitney Renee Pilotte Stahl, age 37, of Swansboro, North Carolina, formerly of Clayton, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Novant Health in Wilmington, North Carolina after a battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Clayton, North Carolina with Monsignor Michael Clay officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church parish hall for a luncheon provided by the Ladies Guild following the Mass.
Whitney was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 2, 1987 to Kevin and Elizabeth “Beth” Lowe Pilotte.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald VanDeWiele, Avis and Howard Jeffery and Les Pilotte.
Whitney graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Barton College and worked as an Income Maintenance Case Worker for Onslow County Department of Social Services.
Whitney loved the beach and that is what prompted her recent move to the coast. From the time she was a child, her love of life, God and helping people was evident. Once you were a friend of Whitney’s, you had a friend for life and you knew it; she would be there through thick and thin for you. Her laughter was infectious, she brought a light to the room when she walked in, she was NEVER at a loss for words and could dance to anything—maybe not dance well, but that didn’t matter to her, and dance she did!
Her heart belonged to her children, Lily and Michael, and her biggest sadness over the past several months was that she couldn’t spend the time she wanted with them.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Stahl; two children, Lily and Michael; sister, Aimee (James) Sherman; grandparents, Phil and Sarah Lowe and Ellen Pilotte; her nephew, William, aunts, uncles and several cousins.
If you are attending the Mass and/or the reception following, please bring written memories and/or pictures of and with Whitney (or cards will be available in the church narthex and in the parish center for you to share those memories). There will be a basket for you to drop these into so that a scrapbook can be made to share with Lily and Michael and for them to keep.
