William Thomas Hile, a retired US Air Force veteran, with over 24 years of service passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the age of 53. William was born in Dothan, AL on May 19, 1968 and worked as an IT security manager with the AKC. While growing up in Alabama, William spent much time on his father’s farm, shops, and anywhere else he was needed. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and was able to travel the world during his service to the United States. He was deployed in support of Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom and was a member of CVMA Chapter 15-2. William made tons of friends throughout his career from all over the world. In his spare time he always had to keep his hands busy with 3D Printing, working on small motors, guns, lasers engraving, mask making, and just about everything you could think of. He loved boating, fishing, riding motorcycles and camping. A man of many talents, he was always someone you could call at any time to talk about anything and he would have an answer for you even if it was not something you wanted to hear. He was a man who loved deeply for those who he cared about including his dogs and two cats, he was full of passion and would drop what he was doing to lend a hand or an ear.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Gwyn Hile; son, Lt Eric Richard Hile and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Andrew Richard Hile and Avery Leigh Hile; mother-in-law, Diane Ruth Hile; sister-in-law, Dana Lynn Hile. William was preceded in death by his father, William Oscar Griffin.
