Virginia. Born in Wake County, North Carolina, on December 28, 1946, he was a son to the late Pete and Anice Sexton.
William served for 20 years as a Prince William County Firefighter. After his retirement, he worked as a hardwood flooring tool repair man. He was a kind man who had an infectious laugh and loved his family dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm just prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Sexton; children, Bill Sexton and his wife Lisa, Lee Ann Stoltz and husband Chris Stoltz, and Michael Sexton and wife Crystal Sexton; grandchildren, Joseph, William, Timothy, Caitlin, and Jeffery Sexton, Mason, Tyler, Noah, and Josh Stoltz, Kadence and Riley Sexton, and 15 great grandchildren.
