

Gerri (Katalinich) Ash, 77, of Roslyn, a retired waitress, died in an Ellensburg rehab center on March 10, 2014. She was born March 22, 1936, in Gobblers Knob. She grew up and attended schools in South Cle Elum and graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1955. Gerri married Jim Ash in 1956 in Cle Elum.
She went to work for McKean’s Drive In in 1961 and really enjoyed her work there. She was considered a fixture at McKean’s Drive In. Gerri was an active member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Roslyn where she served as a Euchar stat and was very involved in the Croatian Picnic. Gerri enjoyed making povitica, pig in the blankets and gardening. Gerri was very proud of her Croatian heritage.
Gerri is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim Ash of Roslyn; sister, Barb Miller of South Cle Elum; brother, Tom Klobucar of Cle Elum; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Katalinich; two brothers, Zwack Klobucar and George Katalinich II; and sister, Dorothy Golubic.
Viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th at Cascade Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Roslyn. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Roslyn in Croatian Cemetery #1.
