Dale G. Ogden Sr.

He was born on October 13, 1940 in Goshen the son of the late Donald G. and Cristine (Taylor) Ogden. On April 8, 1961, he married Betty A. (O’Conner) Ogden, who preceded him in death on January 4, 2021.

Dale worked as a coal miner for Glenn Irwin Corporation and Sky Haven Coal Company.

He was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church. He also belong to Anderson Creek Sportsmen's Club- where he participated as a competitive marksman. He enjoyed farming, hunting, the outdoors and his horses.

Dale is survived by his six children: Max E. Ogden and his wife Sue of Berwick, PA, Debra K. Smeal and her husband Chuck of Clearfield, Donald A. Ogden and his wife Val of Brockway, Teresa A. Cowder of Clearfield, Evelyn Loye Smarsh and her husband Tony of Goshen and Dale G. Ogden Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Goshen; 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; and his three sisters: Evelyn Loye Ryan, Connie Montini and Donna and her husband Don Jordon all of Goshen.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dale was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Ann Richards Chess, three brother in laws: Jim Ryan, Ed Montini and Richard O’Conner.

The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc.
