

Born March 8, 1922 in Clearfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Blanche Flegal Carson.
Mrs. Crandell was a member of the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church. Her past activities included Young at Heart Square Dancers, Chicklamoose Dancers; Third Ward Fire Co. Auxiliary, Susquehanna Campers Club and Area Agency on Aging Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son and four daughters: William E. “Bill” Crandell and his wife June, Clearfield; Barbara M. Hile and her husband Dennis, Cazenovia, NY; Connie L. Dillon and her husband Gene Zazworsky, Houtzedale; Carol L.Dixon and husband Archie, Lucernemines, PA; Cathy R. Vanish and her husband Dennis, Madera; 11 grandchildren: Melinda Hile, Dwane Crandell, Denise Hile, Tammy Bower, Trudi Owen, Kathy Baughman, Laura Lance, Jodi Fox, Jeffrey Dixon, Brian Vanish and Darrell Vanish; 21 great Grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Brothers: Roy and Clarence Carson; four sisters: Marie Schucker, Mildred Clark, Melva McKenrick and Thelma Guelich.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Elsie B. Crandell will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. A time to share memories will be from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Sunday and from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Monday the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
