Mr. Wallace was born May 15, 1927 in Woodland, the son of Jesse D. and Minnie (Woodling) Wallace.
He had worked for Lady Jane Collieries, Rustin Mine and Lansberry Coal Company. He also had his own excavating business and was known for the backhoe service he provided to many people as well as opening graves at various cemeteries.
Mr. Wallace was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II.
He was a member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785.
Mr. Wallace was an avid hunter.
Jesse is survived by his son, Eugene Keith Wallace and his wife Paula of Rockton, a brother, Marvin T. Wallace of Clearfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Norma Jean (Wisor) Wallace whom he married April 29, 1948 and who passed away March 28, 2005 and three brothers; Richard, Norman and Franklin Wallace.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. John White officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield Honor Guard. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 5:00 PM until the hour of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
