Her death was attributed to complications arising from several age related affiliations
.
Born February 2, 1924 she was the daughter of Albert and Maye (Pike) Hummel and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1943.
On October 3, 1946, she married Fred Long of Curwensville and worked tirelessly by his side as a wife, mother, farmer and factory worker.
Divorced by her husband after more than 40 years of marriage, she spent the remaining years up until the time of her illness living at the home of her son, years Mary Jane often said were the happiest of her life.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond and Robert Long both of Clearfield. In addition she is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, the children of her sister Zoe Rowles and her husband the late William V. Rowles of North Tonawanda, New York and her nephew Lee Hummel of Wilmington, Delware.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband and her brothers: Clifford, Atlee and Fred Hummel.
A simple life made difficult by forces beyond her control has mercifully reached its conclusion.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. John White officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.
