Phyllis H. Bowman

Phyllis H. Bowman, 95, of Curwensville, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at DuBois Nursing Home.

Born March 8, 1931, in Clearfield, the daughter of Lester and Grace (Calhoun) Hall.

On December 12, 1952, she married Sgt. Maj. Willmer Allen Bowman and began their life adventure with their first move to the Marine Corp base in Quantico, VA. From there they routinely transferred to many new locations including a 3-year stint in Japan. All the while growing their family to include 3 boys and ultimately some 43 years later they moved back to where they began in Clearfield County, PA where they built their retirement home.

Before having children Phyllis worked as a civilian clerk for the Marine Corp command at Quantico. Then later in life she worked as a real estate agent in the Baltimore, MD area.

She was a loving wife and mother that spent the majority of her time as a homemaker for her family. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC she owned a horse and enjoyed riding and jumping English style. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening and most loved spending time with family and trying to keep up with the happenings in the lives of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Phyllis is survived by two sons: Bret Bowman of Katy, TX and Clifford Bowman of Pahrump, NV, eleven grandchildren: Brandy Bowman, Kelly Truitt (Justin), Jake Bowman, Zack Bowman (Laura), Ricky Bowman, Kristy Stephens (Paul), Jesse Bowman (Laura), Dina Castelli (Jason), Kimberly Beal, Neal Bowman and Shelley Bowman, sixteen great grandchildren: Grant, Griffin, Rylee, Jackson, Dominic, Kyla, Lucy, Landon, Lennon, Nico, Vinny, Cina, Quinn, McKenna, Everly and Brooke and a daughter-in-law, Dianne Bowman of Curwensville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who passed away May 9, 2013, a son, Rick Bowman, a daughter-in-law, Rose Bowman and a sister, Barbara Kessling.

Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12:00 noon with Rev. John F. White officiating. Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of services.
