Richard "Rick McKay" T. Soukup

Born on January 12, 1958 in Seaford, DE, he was the son of Thomas R. Soukup and June (Entwistle) Soukup-Campbell.

Mr. Soukup was a graduate of Seaford High School and later Salisbury University with a degree in communications. He was best known locally as the radio announcer “Rick McKay” while employed with WCPA-WQYX. Mr. Soukup also served as the annoucer for the Clearfield County Fair Parade for many years.

Mr. Soukup was employed by Sam's Club in State College, PA for several years and was a photo lab manager at Eckard Pharmacy in DuBois and was currently employed by Progressive Business Publications in DuBois. He was also known for his private photography business that he operated in the Clearfield-DuBois Area. Mr. Soukup also taught photography classes at the Clearfield County Vo-Tech.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield, PA.

Mr. Soukup is survived by his wife Vicki (Burkett) Soukup, whom he married on April 19, 1986 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield; a sister, Beth Strakonsky and her husband Frank of Frederick, MD; a niece, Caroline Strakonsky and his step-father, Thomas Campbell of Wilmington, DE.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, PA. with Dr. Robert L. Rupp officiating. Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services.
