Albert H. Rolley passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020, with his loving wife, son and daughter at his bedside. “Bert” was born in Leeds, England on June 15, 1928. He served in the British Army and was deployed to Africa from 1948 to 1950. On December 16, 1950, he married Edith Mellor in Blackburn, England. He emigrated to Canada with his family in 1957. Then, in 1959, he moved the family to Utica, New York. Bert had a career in manufacturing engineering and worked for Univac, RCA and Honeywell. His work changes resulted in moves to New Jersey and finally to Florida. He loved music, dancing, travel, cruises, the beach, fishing from the dock and talking about his family. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Edith; son Robert Rolley and wife, Laurie; daughter Pauline Ferlita and husband, William; granddaughters, Taryn Bergstrom(Christian), Kristin Capazola(Scott), Angela Hugo(Brian), Kimberly Culbertson(Erik), and Nicole Bishoff(Matthew), three great granddaughters, six great grandsons and more relatives in England. Our “PopPop” will be greatly missed, but we will try to live by his example.
“Don’t look back. Look forward”
A private Celebration of Life service will take place at Sylvan Abbey, Fountains of Memories, Clearwater, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salvation Army in memory of Albert H. Rolley.
