Annie was one of seven children born to Andrew and Bridget Lawlor in their beloved Tibarney home. From her earliest days in the Irish countryside to her many decades in America, she lived life with a rare blend of grace, humor, and style. Though her journey took her far from Ireland, her heart never strayed from its roots.
Annie came to the United States as a young woman, and it was there she met and married the love of her life, Jack Burnbaum. The two she shared a long and loving marriage until his passing in 1985. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, golf, friendship, and good food—a combination that seemed to follow Annie wherever she went.
She lived in Newton and Harwich Port, Massachusetts, before eventually settling in Clearwater and Palm Harbor, Florida. In each place, she made deep connections, volunteered in her community, and somehow always found time to host a proper tea, complete with china, Waterford crystal, and a dash of Irish mischief.
Known for her impeccable taste, her infectious laugh, and her ability to tell a story better than anyone else, Annie was both elegant and down-to-earth. She loved her faith, her family, and a good chat after Mass nearly as much as she loved cheering for her favorite Irish golfers on television.
Annie was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and by all of her siblings except her beloved sister Sara (“Fran”), who survives her. She is also lovingly remembered by her step-daughter Joan, by the children of her late step-daughter Bobby, and by Joan’s own children, all of whom came to think of Annie as their grandmother and friend. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives were brighter because of her warmth and wit.
“Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
