

Lorbeer, Arnold, 97, of Belleair, passed away on April 17, 2012. He was born in London, England on June 18, 1914. He attended Peekskill Military Academy and graduated in 1931. He received a Master’s Degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut in 1935 and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society. He served as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army in World War II attaining the rank of Major, and was an officer in The Office of Strategic Services (OSS). He became President of American Ultramar in New York from 1974 – 1984 and Chairman of Ultramar Ltd. in London from 1980 – 1984. Arnold was a member of the New York Athletic Club, the Westside YMCA, the Mount Kisco Country Club and the Belleair Country Club.
