Bernard Lebowitz, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at home. He was born February 6, 1930, in New York City to the late Lebe Svitsky and the late Isaac Lebowitz and resided in the Bronx. Before attending Traffic School and becoming the CEO of a successful Freight Broker, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He met the love of his life, the late Sheila Bernstein in 1959 and they were married January 10, 1960 until she passed in 2004.
Bernie was a people magnet known for his sense of humor and warmth. He maintained wonderful, lifelong friendships. He was famous for breaking out in song and dance whenever the mood struck. His loves included his children, grandchildren, great grandson, his new wife Barbara, the Bronx Boys, the PostcardMania GI and the New York Giants football team.
He is survived by his “BEAUTY-FUL” daughters, Karin Lebowitz Taylor (Denis) and Joy Lebowitz Gendusa (Sam), his grandchildren, Zachary Rockwell, Julia Fraisse (Bryan), James Rockwell, Jennifer Taylor and Eric Taylor, and his great grandson, Emmett.
His memorial service will be held at 414 Magnolia Drive, Clearwater, FL at 12:00 PM on Sunday, March 7th, 2021.
