

He was born July 27, 1935 to James and Myrtle Hunt in Bardwell KY.
Billy proudly served in the Marines from 1953-1956 and held dearly the Marine Corp Esprit de Corps of once a Marine always a Marine. He went on to work in a variety of machine shops which supported the “Big Three” and various industries, eventually working his way up to Plant Managers.
He retired in 1999, and moved to Florida to enjoy the retired life. After 5 years of retirement, he became restless and decided to become a crossing guard for Pinellas County, he was a crossing guard in Safety Harbor for almost 12 years. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed being around the children. He found a great purpose, and they kept him on his toes. Having to retire from being a crossing guard at the age of 81 because of health reasons sadden him, he missed it dearly. Bill was a member of the American Legion, and the VFW for many years. After the death of his wife Evelyn, he would go there almost every day to talk with the boys, and see his friends. Bill enjoyed watching his westerns on TV, riding on his golf cart patrolling his neighborhood, and eating ice cream.
Billy married Caroline Gardner in 1955 and had 4 children, Allen (1956-1957), Debbie, Teresa 1964, Patti 1965. They divorced in 1976.
Billy married Evelyn in 1976, who preceded him in 2012. Bill and Evelyn had a combined family of six and he is survived by Patti Tucker, Teresa Edwards, Debbie Stroh, Jeannie Denk, David Ramey and Sharon Taylor. His also had a son, Allen who preceded him at an early age. Billy had 10 grandchildren: Douglas and April Ramey, Tim, Kevin, Corey, and Bradley Stroh, Matt Greer, Joey Vitale and Amanda Molaroni, Jessica Tucker. And many great grandchildren. Siblings: Ann Brisendine, Jim Hunt, Sharon Lindsley who preceded him in death, Brenda Causey, David Hunt.
In the months before his death Bill was under hospice care, He was able to stay home, and his daughter Patti took leave from work and was his primary care giver. On June 30, 2021 he passed away peacefully, his last words being “I Love You All”.
