

Cecelia Gail Monahan, 82, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, on June 9, 1943, she was the beloved daughter of the late Helene (née Figard) and William Monahan.
A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving sister, and treasured friend, Gail lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to others. After graduating from Temple University with a diploma in nursing, she began a career that would span decades—offering comfort, healing, and kindness to countless patients and their families. Her gentle hands and open heart left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to be in her care.
Gail’s love extended far beyond her profession. She was the proud and loving mother of Melissa (Alex) Diaz, Linda (Willie) Woolridge and Steffi (Michael) Sellers, and her fur-baby, Phoenix, each of whom carries forward her legacy of strength and grace. She was also a beloved grandmother to, Alex (Cambierlie) Diaz Jr., Brandon Diaz, Justin (Brooke) Diaz, Brandon Woolridge, Jordon Woolridge; and steadfast friend—always ready with a listening ear, a warm embrace, or words of encouragement.
Her life was a testament to service—whether in the hospital, at home, or in her community—and her warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A gathering of family & friends will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 9AM until the celebration of life at 10AM, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gail’s honor to the Humane Society of Pinellas.
Gail’s life was a beautiful example of love in action. Though she has left this world, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched.
